This treatment is noninvasive and you’re free to leave after we’re done. No scalpel is needed. After using a special cream to apply local anaesthesia on your skin, we proceed as planned. Tiny needles with threads are inserted under your skin. The threads are 30 to 90 millimetres long. There are no visible traces of treatment and no scars; very little pain is involved. Although the effect of mesothreads is visible immediately, it also improves over time — over months, actually.
We do recommend combining the treatment with ultherapy and mesolift as well as hyaluronic acid application to get some extra volume. However, lifting threads are getting ever more popular as a separate treatment.
Unlike other skin shaping treatments, lifting threads are a very simple procedure that only lasts up to 30 minutes.
Bruises and slight swelling may appear after the treatment. A short recovery period of 2 to 3 days is needed. It’s a good idea to undergo the treatment before the weekend.
Special mesothreads made of biocompatible material are used during the treatment, so no allergic reaction is possible. After the treatment, the thread dissolves completely within 180 days.
This innovative treatment actually comes from southeastern Asia, where ladies traditionally have very fine and thin skin. In the past, the so called Aptos gold and platinum threads were used, but those were not that great: the threads were actually visible and they would often “travel”. They weren’t very comfortable either and surgery was sometimes needed to remove them.
The number and type of threads is individual for every client depending on face type and skin condition. The doctor will recommend the treatment during your initial consultation.
