Circumcision

Circumcision has a long tradition within some nations and it is one of the most frequently performed surgeries in the world. Circumcision can be done, for example, based on religious and aesthetic reasons, but most often it is done because of phimosis.

Circumcisied male provides for his sex partners a higher hygiene standard, as the penis does not have any skin folds, which would keep the disease-causing bacteria, viruses or fungi. Circumcision does not affect the potency; it does not reduce erectile or sexual excitability.

Long term experience and medical research have shown evidence of a lower rate of cervical cancer of female partners of circumcised men and a lower incidence of penile cancer of men after circumcision.

Circumcision is done either as an outpatient procedure in local anesthesia or general anesthesia within a one-day hospitalization.
