The Fotona laser system represents a modern medical solution that targets not only the visible manifestations of rosacea, but also the mechanisms underlying the condition. This non-invasive laser treatment works in the deeper layers of the dermis without damaging the skin’s surface, helping to stabilize blood vessels, reduce inflammation, and strengthen the skin structure. The result is visibly calmer, more even-toned, and more resilient skin.
Rosacea is a condition associated with vascular instability, chronic inflammation, and a weakened skin barrier. The Fotona laser targets these mechanisms precisely. Using a long-pulsed Nd:YAG laser, the energy penetrates deep into the dermis, where it selectively targets dilated capillaries and abnormal vascular structures characteristic of rosacea. The laser energy selectively heats the dilated blood vessels, which gradually close. It helps reduce chronic inflammation in the skin, strengthen the vascular walls and dermal structure, stimulate collagen production, and support the regeneration and restoration of the skin barrier. The laser energy is precisely controlled to avoid irritating sensitive skin, which is particularly important in the treatment of rosacea.
The Fotona laser is among the most advanced dermatological technologies used to treat vascular and inflammatory skin conditions. Unlike superficial cosmetic treatments, it can target the deeper layers of the skin where the underlying mechanisms of rosacea occur. Precisely adjustable treatment parameters allow it to address both mild and more advanced forms of rosacea, safely treat highly sensitive and reactive skin, stabilize blood vessels and reduce their reactivity, while also providing a longer-lasting effect than superficial light-based methods. Fotona therefore addresses not only the consequences of rosacea but also helps stabilize its underlying mechanisms.
Fotona and IPL are both light-based technologies, but they work according to different principles.
Fotona uses a precise Nd:YAG laser wavelength that selectively targets vascular structures deep within the dermis. The energy is stable, precisely controlled, and safe even for highly sensitive skin.
IPL uses broad-spectrum pulsed light that is primarily dispersed in the superficial layers of the skin. In rosacea-prone skin, it may cause irritation or increase skin sensitivity.
Fotona therefore represents a more precise medical approach to treating vascular skin concerns.
Fotona laser treatment helps reduce chronic redness and erythema, eliminate visible dilated blood vessels and capillaries, reduce inflammation and the sensation of burning, strengthen the skin’s resilience, and even out skin tone. It also improves the overall quality and texture of the skin without damaging its surface and is suitable even for highly sensitive skin.
Fotona laser treatment is an ideal choice for clients experiencing vascular or erythematous forms of rosacea, chronic facial redness, visible veins and capillaries, or skin that reacts with redness to heat, stress, or cosmetics. It is also suitable for highly sensitive and reactive skin and for anyone seeking a medical, long-term solution without invasive surgery.
Following a series of Fotona laser treatments, the skin appears visibly calmer, less red, and more even. Vascular structures become stabilized, inflammatory activity in the skin is reduced, and the skin barrier gradually regenerates. The skin becomes more resilient and less reactive, with a healthier, more balanced complexion. Results improve gradually and have a long-lasting character.
Mild redness may occur after the treatment and usually subsides within a few days. With more intensive settings, skin peeling may occur. In more sensitive patients, a blister may develop at the treatment site.
Strict protection from sun exposure with SPF 50 is an essential part of post-treatment care.
Active inflammatory skin disease in the treatment area, active herpes, pregnancy, tanned skin, oncological disease, anticoagulant therapy, diabetes mellitus, suspected malignant skin tumour, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular or pulmonary disease, blood clotting disorders, hypertension, epilepsy, febrile conditions, treatment with retinoids /Roaccutane/ within the past 6 months, and a tendency towards pathological healing. At least 1 week before and after the treatment, topical products containing retinol/retinal should also be excluded from the skincare routine.
