Compared with conventional liposuction, it focuses more closely on individual transitions and contour details. Depending on the anatomy, areas such as the abdomen, waist, chest or back can be reshaped. The procedure does not enlarge muscles, replace muscle training or serve as a method of weight loss or removal of significantly loose skin.
Suitable candidates are women and men with stable weight, good skin elasticity and local fat deposits that conceal muscle contours. Results depend on individual anatomy and cannot create the same appearance in everyone. With greater excess skin, another type of contouring or a combined approach may be more suitable.
The procedure is unsuitable in cases of acute infection, unstable serious disease or unresolved clotting disorders. Pregnancy is also a reason to postpone it. Smoking and some chronic diseases impair healing. Significant obesity, inadequate skin elasticity or unrealistic expectations of muscle definition may be reasons to recommend a different approach.
During the consultation, we determine the desired degree of contour definition together and assess skin quality and fat distribution. Preoperative examinations follow. Inform the doctor about medicines, supplements and previous operations; do not change treatment yourself. You receive individual instructions on nicotine, fasting and anaesthetic preparation. Also plan a quieter routine and help after the procedure.
Before surgery, the surgeon marks areas for targeted fat reduction. Through small skin access points, cannulas are then used to sculpt subcutaneous tissue, defining existing muscle transitions while preserving a smooth surface. The technique and anaesthesia depend on findings and procedure extent. The term HD does not itself imply use of one particular device.
After the procedure, follow instructions on access-site care, compression garments and follow-ups. Swelling, bruising and tenderness in treated areas are initially common. Short walks are usually introduced early as recommended. Start massage or other additional treatments only after surgeon approval; overly intensive interventions can irritate healing tissues.
Return to work and sport depends on the extent of fat removal, the treated area and healing progress. Increase physical activity gradually. Contours may initially be uneven due to swelling and tissue hardening; they take longer to settle than small access wounds take to heal. We therefore do not assess the final result immediately after the procedure.
The aim is natural-looking definition of body lines. Stable weight and a long-term exercise routine help maintain the effect. Even small access points leave permanent little scars. Risks include asymmetry, irregularities, excessively pronounced grooves, altered sensation, bleeding, infection, fluid accumulation and impaired healing. Serious complications such as thromboembolism may rarely occur. Subsequent correction is sometimes necessary.
