We often meet patients who come for examination of their "moles". During the examination, we often find that what patients often think is a birthmark is just an ordinary growth or an age wart. Only after the dermoscopic examination can we decide whether a lesion needs to be removed for health reasons or whether the patient wants it removed for aesthetic reasons.
Classic moles - pigmented nevus - cannot be removed by laser because we know how dangerous they can be. Removal is always done only surgically, followed by histological examination. However, if the lesions are harmless and do not show signs of a classic birthmark, removing the lesion with the laser is the best option.
Laser has a number of advantages compared to surgery. Its application is fast, simple, can be performed without local anaesthesia (although we prefer it, as it is less painful for the patient), after the treatment only a small superficial defect remains - a burn, which (after treatment by our laser) does not bleed, then forms a crust and after its disappearance no scars remain on the skin. The whole process takes about 5-7 days. The patient can do sports, go to work and take a shower immediately after the procedure without any problems.
